I was very proud to be invited to perform for Annesty International this weekend at their Stand Up For Comedy Event in Belfast.
Hosted by the excellent John Bishop, the show featured Daniel Rigby, Mike Wozniak, Katherine Ryan and was headlined by the fabulous Damian Clark. Idid a brief interview after for the organisations website and I was embarrassed to find I didn’t know a single human right. Amnesty serve to protect our rights as humans and raise awareness where those rights are being abused or ignored and I couldn’t think of one. Don’t be like me! http://www.amnesty.org.uk/
I’m very excited to have been nominated in the Best Newcomer catagory of the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards (BECA).
This event is now in its eighth successful year and is shaping up to be very exciting. In previous years they have honoured industry stalwarts such as Joseph Marcell and Lenny Henry as well as given a nod to the newcomer and this year will be no exception.
The awards night takes place on 16th November at The Camden Centre, London, WC1 and you can vote online for your favourite newcomer (whoever that may be…).
The Funny Women tour started on 3rd October in St Albans and this Friday, yours truly will be MCing their London night at the Soho Revue Bar.
With a host of talented ladies from the six years the Funny Women competition has been running and gals from across the comedy circuit, your certain for a fantabulous night. So get your slag rags on and head into London’s swinging Soho this friday!
